Writing Placement Exam

If you are an incoming first-year student or transfer student who does not have college-level English credit, make sure to take the Writing Placement Exam. Most SFAI students take an English composition course during their first semester; this online exam will tell us which English course is right for you. It's a great opportunity to introduce SFAI faculty to your writing voice and how you think about art-making.

Students required to take the Writing Placement Exam will receive an email shortly after registering for classes. If you have questions about this requirement, please email Ashley Clarke at aaclarke@sfai.edu.

The exam is available to take online, at any time. To read more information, or to take your Writing Placement Exam, click HERE.
