Orientation and Move-in Dates
Orientation serves as a formal introduction to SFAI—its faculty, staff, facilities, and campus resources—and the opportunities that await as you join this vibrant community.
All new, incoming students are required to attend orientation. Dates for upcoming orientation sessions are detailed below.
International and Exchange Student Orientation (F1 & J1 VIsa Holders) >> Tuesday, August 22nd
Check in at 800 Chestnut Street at 9:30am. Orientation will consist of Passport, Visa, and I-20 document drop-off, and Academic Resoure Center Presentation, lunch, and the writing palcement exam. Orientation will conclude at 1:00pm unless a student still needs to take the writing placement exam, which beings at 2:00pm.
Friends and Family Orientation >> Tuesday, August 22nd
This is an optional day for friends and family of new students to become oriented to SFAI. Check in begins at 10:00am and sessions begin at 10:15am. Friends and Family Orientaiton will conclude at 3:30pm.
All New Students >> Wednesday, August 23nd – Friday, August 26th
All new students attend orientation from Wendesday - Friday of orientation week. Sessions are desiged to integrate studetns into the SFAI community through small groups and interactive sessions with faculty, staff and students. Each day begins at 9:00am and is completed in mid-afternoon.

The schedules detailed below are for travel planning and general information only. Please note that sessions are subject to change, and that you will receive an official schedule when you arrive at orientation check-in. All sessions will be held at the 800 Chestnut Street campus unless otherwise noted.

Student ID Cards
Your student ID card is an all-access pass to SFAI. You can use it to check out library books and audio-visual equipment, purchase food at the SFAI Café, and get access to other exciting offers around the city. To receive your ID at orientation, you must submit a photo by August 15, 2017.
Photos must be submitted through Moodle. Visit moodle.sfai.edu, and follow the links for User Accounts > Student User Account Services > Student ID Picture Upload.
